Attorney Roland Sanchez-Medina Jr. is the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) Chairman among many other things in the community. This year he has shown his dedication to the community even during tough times. He represents a true fighter and believer in the works of those in the Hispanic community and someone that will go the extra mile to make it happen!
Sanchez-Medina is a partner of the SMGQ Law Firm, where his focus is on the corporate and securities areas of law. He executes mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring/restructuring, board governance, domestic and international commercial transactions, commercial and residential real estate transactions, tax and estate planning, and other general transactional services. He is quite an accomplished attorney that has represented all kinds of clients and has been recognized for his work various times.
While he has a busy schedule being the attorney that he is, he makes sure to devote time back to his community by becoming the Chairman of the SFLHCC. He was sworn into the position in June of 2020, during the global COVID pandemic, and has shown his commitment to his role since.
While operations of the chamber remained limited, Mr. Sanchez-Medina knew that there was still a role to fill and a community to serve, even if it meant forgoing traditional methods. Many local businesses were hit hard by the impacts of the pandemic, and Sanchez-Medina knew there were things he could do to assist the over 1,700 members of the organization. He began the initiative with educational resources that would help those in the network. These included sessions on governmental guidance, how to get good use of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and get them forgiven, and additional access to other aid and resources that became available.
In the short time he served as the Chairman of the Chamber, his presence was very much felt by the organization and the members of the network.
“I am absolutely privileged to be able to have Roland Sanchez-Medina, Jr, as the chairman of the board of the South Florida Hispanic Chamber Commerce. He is so very well respected and recognized, not only as a lawyer, but as a leader, philanthropist, and more importantly, an absolutely wonderful person."
Liliam Lopez CEO of the SFLHCC
According to Mr. Sanchez Medina it has been an inspiration to see the Chamber not back away from its community network in its time of need. During the pandemic, the SFLHCC remained committed to its mission by hosting a variety of virtual seminars, meetings, and having relevant conversations with business and governmental leaders. The work they have done has been a tremendous help to the participating members and partners.
As things continue to improve, they do not doubt that with the leadership of Chairman Roland Sanchez-Medina and the rest of the SFLHCC team, there will be even more opportunities for all parties involved.
The SFLHCC is a non-profit organization established in 1994 to promote business leadership, facilitate economic growth, and be a legislative advocate for the Hispanic business community in South Florida.
