Organizers confirm July 18 concert will go on, with tribute performance planned to honor the late Latin music icon
The upcoming Ranchenato Second Edition concert will move forward as scheduled on July 18, 2025, at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, despite the heartbreaking death of special guest artist Rubby Pérez. Pérez, a beloved figure in Latin music, was tragically killed in a violent incident at Jet Set nightclub in the Dominican Republic.
“We are deeply saddened by Rubby’s passing,” said Frederick Melendez of AGTE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT. “He was more than a performer—he was a pillar of the genre whose music touched millions. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and his fans.”
To accommodate those grieving or who no longer wish to attend, ticket holders have a five-day window to request a refund at the original point of purchase.
Tributes and talent to celebrate Latin music’s spirit
While Pérez’s absence will be deeply felt, the event will now include a special tribute performance by Wilfrido Vargas in his honor. The concert will also feature top Latin artists Elder Dayán, Peter Manjarrés, and Pipe Bueno, all committed to delivering a powerful night of music that reflects both celebration and remembrance.
“We believe the best way to honor Rubby is to keep the music alive,” said Melendez. “This night will be a tribute not just to him, but to everything he stood for.”
