The residents’ concerns
The plane crash in Broward has left the residents in shock and fear. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time such a thing has occurred. In Miramar, plane crashes are common, which is why the residents want the commercial airport to be shut down.
Over the last 2 years or so, the area has witnessed 5 similar incidents. In 2020, a student from Wayman Aviation Academy, Mark Scott, died because of a plane crash at Miramar Commons shopping center. The crash also injured flight instructor Andres Bastidas.
Another incident took place last year at Southwest 72nd Avenue when a 4-year-old child died after a plane crashed into his mother's SUV. Besides these, there have been other incidents too.
The authorities are investigating what factors led to the crash.
