Mobile library coming to a Miami-Dade park near you

Thanks to the partnership between Miami-Dade County Parks and the Miami-Dade Public Library System, local parks in Miami will host a mobile library near you

The Covid-19 virus has brought instability to the communities of Miami Dade. Many had difficulty accessing resources that were available through the library system before. Although many libraries are back in operation, some remain closed to the public. A mobile library can be a game-changer, bringing the library to a park near you!

In partnership with Miami-Dade County Parks, the Miami-Dade Public Library System (MDPLS) put together mobile library services and technology resources for Miami residents.  The services will be available to all at various Miami-Dade Parks. The events will also host the MDPLS’s Bookmobile and Technobus, a computer lab on wheels.

The initiative, launched in November, was a response to Covid-19. The events give the community the ability to stay connected, access learning, and take part in a recreational experience. The goal is to invite people to enjoy a great book in the beautiful outdoors.

The Bookmobile gives library cardholders access to borrowing books, DVDs, music, and audiobooks. Those who don’t have a library card can apply for an eCard online or at any library location.

The Technobus makes stops throughout the community so people of all ages can have access to technology, digital learning, and more. Visit Miami-Dade Public Library System for more information.

There will be enforcement of all COVID-19 guidelines for these events. Everyone must wear facial coverings and maintain social distance at all times.
