Miami’s Great Thanksgiving Banquet brings hope, warmth, and thousands of meals to our community

An unforgettable Thanksgiving Banquet full of gratitude powered by volunteers, local leaders, and generous Miami organizations

As Miami prepares for holiday parrandas, Noche Buena gatherings, and the bustle of winter Miami events, one tradition stands out as a powerful reminder of compassion: The Great Thanksgiving Banquet for the homeless and hungry of South Florida. Hosted by The Caring Place @ Miami Rescue Mission and Broward Outreach Centers, this beloved annual celebration transforms the holiday into a day of dignity, unity, and service—right in the heart of our community.

A holiday celebration feeding thousands across Miami-Dade and Broward

On Thanksgiving Day, more than 2,000 hot Thanksgiving meals will be served at the Great Thanksgiving Banquet across Miami-Dade and Broward to neighbors experiencing homelessness or hunger. Supported by over 200 dedicated volunteers, guests will enjoy a full traditional meal along with clothing, hygiene kits, health services, and heartfelt holiday moments.

This effort follows an earlier distribution on November 21, where over 500 families in need received turkeys and food boxes. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Potential Church, which collected 900 turkeys and 150 hams, families across South Florida will have the chance to celebrate with dignity.

At the Miami campus, support comes from community partners including the Elegant Family & Friends, MER LLC, Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, Americas Commercial Real Estate, La Colonia Medical Center, The Acevedo Foundation, and countless individual sponsors. Special guests—Village of El Portal Mayor Omarr C. Nickerson, Coral Gables Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson, and Homeless Trust Chair Ron Book—will join attendees, along with performances by Erica Sommer and Brooklyn Boon.

At the Hollywood campus, the celebration continues with generous backing from Fleet Advantage, Cool Church, and many local sponsors. Boxing legend Evander Holyfield is even stepping in to provide cooked turkeys and smoked turkey legs. Local leaders from Sunny Isles Beach and Coral Springs will also be present, making the event a true reflection of regional unity.

Both campuses will feature uplifting messages from faith leaders—reminding everyone that Thanksgiving is not just about food, but about hope, belonging, and human connection.
