Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez launches initiative to increase accessibility and efficiency across Miami-Dade
In a bold move aimed at modernizing government services and meeting the real-world needs of residents, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez has officially announced extended hours of operation across key Tax Collector branch offices. The change, effective immediately, is designed to better serve working families, seniors, and small business owners who have long struggled with limited access during traditional weekday hours.

Extended hours aim to ease the burden on working families
Effective this month, most Miami-Dade Tax Collector offices will now be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the exception of the North Dade Justice Center, which will continue operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Offices with Saturday hours include:
- Downtown Miami Tax Collector’s Office – 200 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33128
- Miami Central – 3721 NW 7th St, Miami, FL 33126
- Midway Crossings (Suite 82C) – 7795 W Flagler St, Miami, FL 33144
- Florida City – 1448 N Krome Ave, Florida City, FL 33034
- Kendall (coming soon) – 11735 SW 147th Ave, Miami, FL 33196
“This is what government should look like: accessible, efficient, and built around your life—not bureaucracy,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. The initiative is part of his broader commitment to reforming and improving the delivery of county services.
A modern approach to public service
In a major milestone for service expansion, the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office has officially transformed the Florida City Driver License Office into its fifth full-service branch. Located at 1448 N Krome Ave, the revamped facility now operates under the leadership of Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez.
“This is about building a government that works for the people,” said Fernandez. “We are moving swiftly to open more offices and assume local control to better serve Miami-Dade residents.”
With 17 service windows and staff capacity to handle up to 400 customers daily, the office is equipped to cut down wait times significantly. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on July 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
By expanding hours, the Tax Collector’s office boosts convenience, reduces wait times, and makes it easier for residents to handle taxes and registrations without disrupting work or family life.
The announcement follows recent updates to multiple locations under Fernandez’s leadership, which have also included staffing increases and digital upgrades designed to streamline services for all Miami-Dade residents.
