A $345 million investment for Terminal G sets the stage for a smarter, greener, and more seamless cruise experience in the Cruise Capital of the World

Miami’s skyline is about to welcome another icon. Against the backdrop of Biscayne Bay and a city that thrives on global connection, local leaders and industry partners gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of Cruise Terminal G at PortMiami—a project that signals what’s next for Miami events, economic growth, and the cruise industry that defines our waterfront.
A milestone moment for PortMiami and Miami-Dade
The ceremony was led by Daniella Levine Cava, alongside the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, PortMiami Director and CEO Hydi Webb, and Royal Caribbean Group Chairman and CEO Jason Liberty. Together, they marked the beginning of a state-of-the-art terminal designed to meet LEED certification standards and accommodate up to 7,000 passengers.
Mayor Levine Cava highlighted how the new terminal will enhance Miami-Dade’s skyline while transforming how people move through PortMiami. The design-build project, delivered by Lemartec-NV2A Joint Venture in partnership with Perez & Perez Architects & Planners, includes a multi-level parking garage, an intermodal facility, and infrastructure capable of supporting Royal Caribbean’s Icon-class vessels.
Cruise Terminal G is building the future of the cruise capital of the world
More than a terminal, Cruise Terminal G represents a strategic investment in Miami’s future. With advanced technology, energy-efficient systems, and a single-berth design for faster embarkation and disembarkation, the facility is built for the next generation of cruising. Dedicated to Royal Caribbean Group—while maintaining multi-vessel functionality—the terminal will serve brands including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea.
For Miami residents, this project means jobs, economic impact, and continued global visibility. PortMiami already contributes an estimated $61 billion annually to the local economy and supports more than 340,000 jobs. Terminal G, slated for completion in late 2027, strengthens that role while adding another architectural landmark to our evolving waterfront—right alongside the city’s vibrant neighborhoods, from Little Havana to downtown Miami.
As Miami continues to invest in projects that shape its future, Cruise Terminal G stands as a reminder of why our city remains a global hub for travel, trade, and innovation.
