Miami all set to celebrate Juneteenth 2025 with music, art, and spirit

Soulful performances and cultural festivals all set to honor Black freedom in the magic city

Miami is preparing to commemorate Juneteenth 2025 with a series of events that honor African American history.

With live music and art installations, there’s something for everyone to participate in to celebrate Black culture and contributions.

History and culture

Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19, commemorating the day in 1865 when enslaved persons in Galveston, Texas, were told of their liberation, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

It’s a holiday that has now become a symbol of African American freedom and strength.

The celebrations will spring into action on Saturday, June 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Adrienne Arsht Center, which will be hosting its third annual Juneteenth Juke Joint.

The stage of the Ziff Ballet Opera House will also pay homage to the rich history of Black music and culture in the American South.

Attendees can enjoy live performances by STOUT, The W’s, and DJ Cardi. There will also be visual art curated by local Black artists and a special happy hour menu featuring soul food-inspired bites.

Tickets are priced at $45, and the event is open to guests aged 18 and over.

June 16th marks Independence Day in the United States, celebrating freedom and national pride.
