Bacardi and HHF's Visión Verde Grant program awards $100,000 to support sustainability in beverage industry
Bringing together Bacardi U.S.A., Inc. and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF), we are pleased to announce the second annual Visión Verde Grant. This innovative $100,000 program will support Latinx/Hispanic entrepreneurs in the United States who are working in the beverage alcohol service, sales, or hospitality industries.
Latinx company entrepreneurs whose companies prioritize sustainability and environmental protection are the intended recipients of this substantial gift. The mission of HHF and Bacardi is to empower Latinx entrepreneurs by providing them with financial support and important resources.
The significance of sustainable business practices should not be underestimated, given the ongoing global environmental issues. This philosophy is shown by the Visión Verde Grant, which helps Latinx entrepreneurs succeed while simultaneously making the world a better place. Aspiring company owners have a once in a lifetime chance to get funds to put sustainable practices in place and succeed in the long run—the application deadline is August 25, 2024.
Empowering Latinx entrepreneurs for a sustainable future with the Visión Verde Grant
The Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Bacardi's Visión Verde award exemplifies the perseverance of Latinx businesses. The Latinx community's natural resilience and innovation are emphasized by Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of HHF. By stating, "Entrepreneurship is in our blood," Tijerino highlights the importance of Latino firms in fostering innovation and economic progress. Latinx businesses may prioritize sustainability while making a huge impact, according to this funding.
The 10 outstanding grantees of this year's Visión Verde program will each receive $10,000 to support initiatives that prioritize environmental responsibility and sustainability. To find the most ground-breaking and influential company concepts, we will use a stringent screening procedure. Both HHF and Bacardi are doing their part to promote environmental stewardship and the growth of Latinx enterprises by emphasizing sustainability.
Coctelería Consciente is a sustainability consultant that specializes in the hotel sector and is run by Hispanics. Applicants will also have access to this service. The winners of the Visión Verde grant will get vital education on topics such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, carbon and water footprints, and integrated waste management through this cooperation. During these workshops, business owners will receive practical advice and ideas to help them become more sustainable.
Bacardi’s commitment to community and sustainability
The Visión Verde award is just one more way that Bacardi shows its commitment to helping the community and protecting the environment. The company's contributions are something that Bacardi North America's VP of community relations, Eddie Cutillas, is proud of. Bacardi values Hispanic companies who share its dedication to sustainability because of its strong Latin American heritage. Good Spirited is Bacardi's overarching Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) program, which includes this effort and establishes lofty sustainability goals and pledges.
By providing $100,000 to ten Greater Miami firms, the Visión Verde grant had a major impact in its first year. Latinx/Hispanic entrepreneurs have the capacity to lead the way in sustainable business practices, and this initial investment lay the framework for that. The grant's expansion across the United States in 2024 is set to build upon the success of last year's program, allowing for even bigger achievements.
