Pop icon Katy Perry is making her long-awaited return to Miami as part of her upcoming Lifetimes Tour, set to hit the Kaseya Center on Saturday, August 23
This marks Katy Perry’s first major tour in nearly a decade, following the Witness Tour in 2017-2018, and fans are eager to see the global superstar back on stage.
The tour announcement comes at a critical moment in Perry’s career. Her latest album, 143, failed to make a significant impact with listeners and critics, largely overshadowed by controversy surrounding her collaboration with producer Dr. Luke. Katy Perry's involvement with Dr. Luke, who has faced allegations of sexual assault from singer Kesha, has been a divisive issue among fans. While the producer continues to work with major artists like Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, Kim Petras, and Coi Leray, Perry’s decision to work with him again for the first time since 2013’s Prism was met with backlash.
Adding to the album’s struggles, its lead single, “Woman’s World,” failed to resonate. The Guardian’s Laura Snapes gave a particularly scathing review, stating, "It's a song that made me feel stupider every sorry time I listened to it." Even the presence of rapper Doechii on the follow-up single "I'm His, He's Mine" wasn't enough to shift the narrative surrounding 143.
Touring to reignite momentum
Despite the lukewarm reception of her latest album, Perry has proven time and time again that her star power remains undeniable. She was recently honored with the MTV Video Vanguard Award and delivered a headline performance at Rock in Rio in Brazil. Now, with the Lifetimes Tour, she’s ready to remind the world why she remains one of pop music’s biggest forces.
The tour will begin in Mexico, where Perry will perform seven sold-out arena shows before heading to Australia. Demand for tickets was so high in Australia that five additional dates were added to her already-packed schedule.
A must-see show for Miami fans
Following the international leg, Perry will return to North America this summer, making stops across the U.S. and Canada, including her highly anticipated show in Miami. She will also travel to South America, where her Buenos Aires shows have already sold out, and Chile’s stadium concert is nearly at capacity. The tour will wrap up in Europe and the UK, with added dates in London and Paris due to overwhelming demand.
For Miami fans, this will be a rare opportunity to see Katy Perry live, as she hasn’t toured since her Las Vegas residency, Play, which wrapped up in 2023.
