Humane Society Partners with inDrive for “Ride-to-Donate” campaign to support animal welfare

Global ridesharing leader commits to donate proceeds from Miami rides to aid adoption services

In a groundbreaking initiative to promote animal welfare and enhance pet adoption rates in the Miami-Dade area, inDrive, a leading global ridesharing service, has announced its partnership with the Humane Society of Greater Miami. From September 23 to October 5, inDrive will donate 10% of every third ride fare to the Humane Society, aimed at supporting the essential services provided to the animals in their care.

A helping paw for local animals

Each day, the Humane Society of Greater Miami cares for approximately 400 animals, providing shelter, food, and veterinary services. Despite rising adoption rates, overcrowding remains a critical issue due to the elevated intake of lost and abandoned pets. Since the beginning of 2024, the organization has welcomed 743 animals while successfully adopting out 672. However, the challenges continue, making accessible transportation a vital need for pet owners and potential adopters.

With this partnership, inDrive hopes to alleviate some of the burdens faced by the Humane Society by contributing to vital supplies and services that ensure the welfare of these animals. In an announcement, the Head of inDrive’s U.S. Operations Adam Warner mentioned that when inDrive launched in Miami the previous July, the company had envisioned supporting a local organization with the proceeds from their rides.

He remarked that the Humane Society was the ideal partner for this initiative. Warner expressed confidence that the funds donated would help the Humane Society enhance its veterinary care, increase food supplies, and provide the necessary love and care for every animal in need.

In addition to the ride-to-donate campaign, inDrive is also proud to be the official transportation partner for the Humane Society’s annual “Walk for the Animals” event on October 5. Starting at 8:30 a.m. at Margaret Pace Park, the event will feature a Halloween-themed walk, raffle, and costume competition for pets and their families. All proceeds from this event will directly support the Humane Society’s ongoing efforts in animal rescue and adoption.

At the walk, inDrive will engage with the community by providing pet-friendly merchandise, hosting giveaways, and more. The Marketing & Communications Manager for the Humane Society of Greater Miami Cassie Selby, stated that the organization was in a better position not only to continue rescuing animals but also to accelerate the adoption process with the support from inDrive.

She emphasized that the generous donations from inDrive would provide them with improved access to the necessary resources for managing both their intake and adoption efforts. Selby encouraged individuals needing a ride to choose inDrive, highlighting it as a wonderful way to support local animals and make a positive impact.

How to participate in the Ride-to-Donate

Participating in this campaign is simple. Miami residents can download the inDrive app and hail rides throughout the city between September 23 and October 5. Each ride hailed during this period will contribute to the Humane Society’s efforts in providing necessary resources for animal care.

By choosing inDrive for your transportation needs, you’ll not only enjoy a fair and accessible ride but also make a tangible impact on the lives of animals in the Miami community. It's a win-win situation for both riders and the furry friends in need.
