We recognize that more frequently these days, kids are having to process the loss of a loved one. In years past, the first death a child experienced was that of a grandparent from old age. But today, children are also losing parents, siblings and friends to drug overdoses, suicide, and tragic acts.
We believe they still need to have a chance to be a kid.
That’s why Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care is hosting a free weekend get-away camp for grieving children on Nov. 11-12th, 2017 at the “Tomorrow’s Rainbow” farm, located in Coconut Creek.
The kids will not only be able to take part in camp activities like horseback riding and archery, but Tomorrow’s Rainbow also offers pet therapy with goats, Shetland ponies and sheep. We’ve also got experienced professionals on hand providing grief education and emotional support.
The camp is free of charge to all children in the Broward area ages 5-18 who have lost a loved one in the past two years.
We would love for you to come out and see firsthand the difference Camp Kangaroo makes in the children’s lives! Attached is a flyer with more information.
