A federal judge in Florida struck down a law restricting transgender healthcare, calling it discriminatory and lacking scientific merit
In a landmark decision on June 11th, 2024, a federal judge in Florida ruled unconstitutional a state law that restricted access to gender-affirming healthcare for transgender individuals, a key pillar of Governor Ron DeSantis’ platform.
The law, Senate Bill 254, passed in 2023, prohibited doctors from prescribing puberty blockers and hormone therapy to transgender minors and imposed limitations on treatment options for adults.
