Grants ranging from $270K–$400K aim to support innovative solutions for Florida’s most pressing well-being challenges
Nonprofit organizations across Florida now have the opportunity to apply for major grant funding from the Florida Blue Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the state’s Blue Cross Blue Shield plan. The Foundation is accepting applications for its 2025 grant cycle, focusing on two essential areas: mental well-being and food security. These grants are part of Florida Blue Foundation’s mission to improve overall health outcomes, reduce disparities, and build stronger communities throughout the state.
Grants will range from $270,000 to $400,000 for the life of each award, covering multi-year initiatives that bring meaningful, long-term change to underserved populations.
The Florida Blue Foundation is supporting mental wellness through action and access
With $2.9 million in funding available, the Foundation is looking to support mental health initiatives that address challenges such as anxiety, isolation, and depression. Programs may target youth, adults, or seniors and must demonstrate an ability to fill critical service gaps. Another key focus is growing Florida’s mental health workforce to meet the rising demand for care. Workforce development and training programs are encouraged to apply.
Applications for mental well-being grants are due by Monday, May 5, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. ET. Award notifications will be made between August and September.
Combating food insecurity with sustainable community solutions
To improve access to healthy, nutritious food—especially in rural and low-income communities—the Foundation is offering $3 million in food security grants. Eligible programs should aim to reduce chronic health conditions through better nutrition, as well as educate communities on healthier food choices. Special consideration will be given to programs that close the rural food gap through sustainable, community-led initiatives.
Food security grant applications must be submitted by Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. ET, with notifications expected in September.
