Florida Blue Centers host free “Back to School” events across South Florida

Community event offers free backpacks, games, and refreshments to help families prepare for the new school year

As the 2025–2026 school year approaches, Florida Blue, the state’s Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan, is stepping up to support families by hosting a vibrant, community-focused “Fuel Your Future” Back to School event on Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its flagship centers throughout South Florida.

These events are free and open to the public—you don’t have to be a Florida Blue member to join in on the fun. With giveaways, crafts, music, and refreshments, the initiative aims to help local families get a strong and joyful start to the academic year.

Free backpacks, crafts, and family fun

The highlight of the day will be the distribution of school supplies and backpacks, available on a first-come, first-served basis (limit three per household, while supplies last). Kids can personalize their school gear at a craft station, enjoy interactive games, and take home customized water bottles and lunch bags.

Parents and children will also enjoy live music, snacks, and the opportunity to connect with the friendly teams from each Florida Blue Center. Each location may vary slightly in activities, making each center’s celebration a unique experience.

Where to join the celebration

The Back to School event will be held at four Florida Blue Centers across Miami-Dade and Broward counties:

  • Hialeah Center – 1001 W. 49th Street, Ste. 8, Hialeah, FL 33012
  • North Miami Center – 13665 Biscayne Blvd., North Miami, FL 33181
  • Miami Center – 8895 SW 136th Street, Miami, FL 33176
  • Sunrise Center – 1970 Sawgrass Mills Circle, Sunrise, FL 33323
