Experience Jumanji in Miami’s Jungle Island

Formerly known as Parrot Island, Jungle Island is Miami’s latest and greatest eco-adventure park. Located on Watson Island in Biscayne Bay, Jungle Island is one of Miami’s most enduring attractions. Building upon a rich tradition that began in 1936, the Island is home to some of the world's rarest and most exotic animals.

Here’s what you can do in Miami’s Jungle Island.

Watch Animal Shows

If you’re looking for seasonal activities to do in Miami, Jungle Island offers several. Their ‘Luminosa, A Festival of Lights' is open to the public from October to January and features beautiful life-sized and handcrafted Chinese lanterns. Their animal shows, such as Winged Wonders, showcase stunt-performing and colorful birds from all around the world.

Wild Adventures gives watchers a couple of valuable lessons about the most intriguing animals that the park houses, making it a perfectly family-friendly activity for those with young children.

Eat At Lakeside Café

A cafeteria-style restaurant, Lakeside Café offers multiple items on its menu for Jungle Island visitors. Offering delicious hot food like pizza, fries, chicken tenders, hot dogs, and more, Lakeside Café is a boon for hungry park visitors. Some of the restaurant favorites include their pizza, chips, and lemon drinks. The Lakeside Café sees hundreds of tired customers every day who sit and enjoy their ice-creams, Slurpee’s, and hot coffees.

Visit The Private Beach

Joia Beach, Jungle Island's private beach, allows you to have the ultimate beach experience. Lounge your day away, relaxing in the chairs laid out by the beach, or cool the heat off by taking a dip in the water. Included in the entrance ticket fee, the private beach is accessible to all those who have a zoo ticket!

Interact With Animals

Jungle Island offers an interactive experience with animals under professional guidance. If cuddling with lovable lemurs or feeding flamboyant flamingos has always been your dream, Jungle Island can make it come true. With a complete petting farm, Jungle Island offers you the opportunity to interact and engage with animals like Australian red kangaroos, sloths— and if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can even dare to hold a snake or an alligator!

With over 200 parrots and macaws, the Parrot Bowl is an interactive show that features exotic parrots, cockatoos, and an Andean condor.

Go Skydiving

Complete your Jungle Island experience by going skydiving in a wind tunnel! Ideal for adrenaline junkies looking for their next fix, these wind tunnels generate winds over 120 miles per hour. This allows you to float in the sky like a bird—without a parachute! With trusted and experienced trainers, the skydiving wind tunnel is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you shouldn’t miss out on.
