Meet Cookie: the adorable pup stealing hearts at Miami’s Mega Puptoberfest 2025

From her “stop, drop, and roll” move to her heart of gold, Cookie is the face of Miami’s biggest adoption celebration

If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, here’s your sign. This Saturday, October 18, Miami-Dade Animal Services will team up with Best Friends Animal Society to host Mega Puptoberfest, one of the biggest pet adoption events of the year — and it’s bringing plenty of tail wags, music, and love to the community. Among the stars of the day? A sweet, playful pup named Cookie, ready to roll (literally!) into someone’s heart.

Cookie: the pup who loves to play and give love

Cookie isn’t your average rescue dog — she’s a bundle of joy wrapped in fur and personality. Known for her signature move, the “Stop, Drop, and Roll,” this charming pup melts hearts wherever she goes. She’s fully house-trained, affectionate, and has been patiently waiting for her forever home.

“She’s pure happiness on four paws,” said a Miami-Dade Animal Services volunteer. “Cookie just wants to make someone’s life a little brighter — and she’s ready to do it with love and a wag.”

Visitors to the event will get to meet Cookie and hundreds of other adoptable pets — all hoping for a second chance and a new beginning.

Mega Puptoberfest: where Miami’s heart for animals shines

Taking place at Miami-Dade Animal Services, Mega Puptoberfest is a free, family-friendly event filled with live music, food trucks, giveaways, and fun activities for kids. Sponsored by the MIAMI HEAT and Kaseya, the event’s goal is as ambitious as it is heartwarming — to help more than 200 dogs and cats find loving homes in a single day.

Beyond the festivities, the event underscores Miami’s growing commitment to ending shelter euthanasia and celebrating the deep bond between people and pets.

Whether you’re from Little Havana, Coral Gables, or just love a good Miami event with heart, Mega Puptoberfest is the place to be this weekend — and maybe, just maybe, where you’ll meet your own Cookie.
