Chairman Anthony Rodriguez hosts Thanksgiving Food & Turkey Giveaway to support Miami families

A Thanksgiving tradition rooted in compassion and community

The season of giving is in full swing, and Miami-Dade is once again proving that community comes first. On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Chairman Anthony Rodriguez will host a Thanksgiving Food and Turkey Giveaway Distribution Event at Kendall Soccer Park (8011 SW 127th Ave.), starting at 10 a.m. In true Miami fashion, this annual event is about more than just food—it’s about gratitude, unity, and making sure every family can celebrate the holiday season with dignity and joy.

Feeding families, fueling hope

Partnering with Farm Share, Inc., Miami-Dade County, and the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, Chairman Rodriguez is leading a heartfelt effort to ensure that families in need don’t go without this Thanksgiving.

The drive-thru distribution will provide free turkeys and food items on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Volunteers will be on-site, working together to load vehicles and keep the process smooth and safe for everyone.

“This event is about sharing the true spirit of Thanksgiving,” said Chairman Rodriguez. “It’s a reminder that when we come together as a community, we can make a real difference in people’s lives.”

Amid rising costs and ongoing challenges for many local families, this initiative stands as a symbol of unity and compassion—values that Miami-Dade has always championed.

Partnerships that power Miami’s generosity

This event wouldn’t be possible without collaboration between local organizations and community partners. Farm Share, a Florida-based nonprofit, has been instrumental in fighting hunger statewide, while the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida continues its long-standing tradition of giving back to South Florida residents.

Together with Miami-Dade County, these partnerships embody what makes Miami such a special place—people from all walks of life joining forces to lift each other up.

As cars line up at Kendall Soccer Park, the sense of community is undeniable. It’s moments like these that remind Miamians that giving thanks also means giving back.

Miami-Dade residents are encouraged to arrive early to participate and to help spread the word to families who may be in need this holiday season.
