Calle Ocho News celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month “Milestones” with a night of history-making fun!

A celebration of culture, community, and connection in the heart of Little Havana hosted by Calle Ocho News

Miami’s pulse has always beaten to the rhythm of culture, community, and celebration—and nowhere is that heartbeat louder than in Little Havana. This Hispanic Heritage Month, Calle Ocho News invites you to join us for a history-making evening at The Havana Collection located at 1421 SW 8 St on Friday, October 24 from 6:00PM to 10:00PM, for an unforgettable celebration of Hispanic pride and unity.

Proudly presented by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) as our top sponsor—alongside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins, Aetna, Miami-Dade Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez, Care Resource, Ojalá Wine, and Ron Barceló—this Hispanic Heritage event promises to honor our roots while celebrating the vibrant future of Miami’s Hispanic community.

Honoring our roots and our rise year round

Each year, from September 15 to October 15, Hispanic Heritage Month shines a light on the history, contributions, and spirit of Hispanic and Latin communities throughout the United States. It’s more than just a commemoration, it’s a movement of pride that brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate shared values, cultures, and traditions.

The timing of Hispanic Heritage Month is especially meaningful—it begins on September 15 to honor the independence anniversaries of several Latin American nations, including Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, followed closely by Mexico’s independence on September 16 and Chile’s on September 18. It’s a moment that bridges generations, reminding us where we come from and how far we’ve come and for that reason we celebrate year-round.

At Calle Ocho News, celebrating this legacy isn’t just tradition, it’s our mission. This year’s event is about more than music and mojitos; it’s about honoring the people who have turned Miami into a cultural mosaic where everyone feels at home.

“History in the Making” — A night to remember

Hosted at the stylish Havana Collection, the event is open to guests 21 and over and will feature live entertainment, delicious bites, signature cocktails, and of course, that unmistakable Miami energy. Expect Latin beats, laughter, and a crowd that feels more like family than strangers.

The night is not only a chance to party, but also a tribute to local artists, entrepreneurs, and small business owners who have poured their hearts into making Calle Ocho and Little Havana what they are today. Their creativity and perseverance continue to shape Miami’s identity, keeping traditions alive while inspiring new generations to embrace their heritage.

Our generous sponsors, including the GMCVB, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Commissioner Eileen Higgins, Miami-Dade Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez, Aetna, Care Resource, Ojalá Wine, and Ron Barceló have helped make this event possible, showing once again that when Miami’s businesses, government, and community organizations come together, amazing things happen. It’s proof that we’re stronger when we lift each other up.

Why this celebration matters to Miami

Hispanic Heritage Month is more than a reflection on the past—it’s a reminder that the Hispanic and Latin communities continue to drive Miami’s growth, creativity, and identity. From the bustling restaurants of Little Havana to the art-filled streets of Wynwood and Coral Gables, our influence can be felt everywhere.

As Calle Ocho continues to grow as Miami’s fastest-developing neighborhood, this event reminds us why it remains so special. The streets of Little Havana carry decades of memories, laughter, and struggle. Every cafecito shared, every mural painted, every salsa song played adds another layer to the city’s soul. And on October 24, we’ll add another unforgettable chapter to that story.

So, mark your calendar for Friday, October 24 from 6:00PM to 10:00PM at the Havana Collection located at 1421 SW 8 St. for an evening of culture, music, and pride that captures everything we love about this city. Come ready to celebrate Miami’s vibrant heritage, toast to the future, and make memories that will last long after the music stops.
