Miami Heat makes NBA history after conquering top-seeded Bucks in Game 5
The Miami Heat won their first playoff series as a play-in team on Wednesday, beating the Milwaukee Bucks in six games. They are the sixth No. 8 seed in the history of the NBA to conquer a No. 1 seed.
After the Heat trailed by 16 points going into the final period on Wednesday, it was a miracle that the game got to overtime. The Heat were behind by three points with 1:41 left in regulation, but they came out strong in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Thunder 27-11 to erase the deficit and force overtime.

The Heat emerge with another outstanding win
On Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum, the eighth-seeded Heat defeated the first-seeded Bucks 128-126 to win the series. This marked the second consecutive game in which the Heat overcame a double-digit fourth-quarter disadvantage to win.
With their 4-1 victory in the best-of-7 opening-round series, the Heat became the sixth No. 8 seed in NBA playoff history to knock out a No. 1 seed. This is because the current NBA playoff structure, including 16 teams, was implemented for the 1983–1984 season. The Heat will take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden to kick off round 2 of the playoffs On Sunday at 1 p.m.
How the Heat sealed their victory
After slipping up early, the Miami Heat rallied to defeat the Bucks 32-16 in the fourth quarter and send the game into overtime. Jimmy Butler, who scored 42 points, grabbed an inbound pass coming from Gabe Vincent with 2.1 seconds remaining in regulation and scored the game-tying shot on his back while the team was behind 118-116.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored 38 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to lead the Bucks, got Milwaukee two points with 30 seconds left in overtime. The Bucks were unable to score on their following possession after grabbing a defensive rebound from Miami.
