This year SFLHCC awarded prominent Cuban American individuals and institutions for their amazing work
The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) just held its annual Havana in the 50s gala at the Biltmore Hotel. Like every year, it was filled with celebrations and tributes to people who have made a positive impact in the community. You might recognize many of the names that were awarded for their prominent role and awe-inspiring career.

Who was awarded at the SFLHCC event?
This year, the gala recognized several famous individuals for their phenomenal careers and contributions to the world. Producer and businessman Emilio Estefan, a multiple Grammy and Emmy Award winner, was honored at the banquet with the "World Excellence in Entertainment" award.
Businessman Fred Voccola, CEO of technology firm Kaseya, was honored with the Global Excellence in Technology award for his role in generating thousands of new employment in Miami.
Other prominent recognitions
Also commemorated during the dinner was the 50th-year milestone of the UHealth Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National CancerInstitute–designated cancer facility in the South Florida region. Celebrity announcer Javier Romero of Univisión, the third Latino and first Cuban American to be inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame, served as the evening's opening speaker and welcomed the crowd of more than 400 guests.
