Spirit Airlines gave a donation to Women in Distress of Broward County
Spirit Airlines is known for its affordable travel rates and frequent convenient flights, but there is more to this company. As part of their mission, they decided to create the Spirit Airlines Charitable Foundation to give back to those communities in which they operate.
The foundation donated $10,000 to Women in Distress of Broward County. This money will give the organization the opportunity to build its Children’s Therapy Room.
In addition, the Foundation created a community service event in which Spirit team members packed over 4,500 kits filled with hygienic supplies to give to families that are a part of the Women in Distress of Broward County organization.
The Spirit Airlines Charitable Foundation was created with the goal of creating positive change in the communities that they serve. The way they do this is by providing both monetary and in-kind donations, and volunteering. The organizations they chose to partner with are those that improve the lives of children, families, and service members.
It is incredible what a long way the foundation has come and how many lives have been impacted by their great work. In just the last five years, they were able to support over 1,500 charities, give over $200,000 in educational scholarships, volunteer over 3,000 hours at different events, and provide more than 2,600 flight vouchers.
