They say life's a beach and if you're in Miami, it's a never-ending beach party too
Miami's been blessed with one of the most incredible locations, right at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, which means locals and tourists alike have the opportunity to lose themselves in the soft, warm sand, and cool ocean breeze. There are several beaches in Miami that you can head to and spend the day. Some of our favorites include:
Lummus Park Beach
Lummus Park is a gorgeous location that you'll probably recognize from various film and TV scenes. It's the perfect place to head to with the family, or your friends, as you enjoy open spaces, outdoor gyms, various courts, trails, and even playgrounds. You can make a whole day trip out of it, knowing that there will be several activities and attractions for you to explore, as well as the opportunity to kick back and relax.
South Beach
Sharing a namesake with the neighborhood, South Beach is arguably one of Miami's most famous beaches. There's a lot to do, including exploring the surrounding neighborhoods and tourist attractions right off the beach or spending a day lounging by the water. When you're done exploring the sights and sounds, you can treat yourself to some of the incredible food and art in the area.
Surfside Beach
A little to the North of Miami, Surfside is a treasure waiting to be discovered. Away from the humdrum and busy atmosphere at other beaches, you can actually enjoy the peace and quiet here. Fewer crowds, cozier feels, and of course, plenty of opportunities to surf, swim, and play in the water make it one of the best places to head to.
Virginia Key Beach Park
Would you believe that this piece of heaven is right off the Rickenbacker Causeway? You'd be surprised at how peaceful and scenic it is despite being so close to downtown Miami. It's an excellent place to go on a picnic, hike, or explore the activities and attractions. There are carnival rides, playgrounds, some historic landmarks, and plenty of natural reserves that you can explore. There's something for everyone at this beautiful, historic beach.
Oleta River State Park
Oleta River State Park is another oasis in the middle of the suburban jungle—the perfect place to head to whether you want to relax, participate in water-based activities like kayaking and paddleboarding, catch glimpses of wildlife, or hang out at the beautiful private beaches. You can keep an eye out on their hours of operation, fees, and other details.
