Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: waste collection, recycling, and disposal facility schedule

The Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has released the schedule of services for the upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Curbside Waste and Trash Collection Service

The Department of Solid Waste Management will not collect the trash on Monday, January 16, 2017. Therefore, DSWM customers are asked NOT to place their green waste carts at the curb that day. The collection will take place on the next regularly scheduled collection day, Thursday, January 19, 2017. It may take longer due to the high volume of waste, but the crews will work throughout the day until all routes are cleared.

Curbside Recycling Collection Service

Curbside recycling collection service will take place on Monday, January 16, 2017, as scheduled. Customers are advised to place their blue recycling carts at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on January 16, 2017.

Bulky Waste Pickup

There will be no Bulky Waste Pickup on Monday, January 16, 2017.

Disposal Facilities

The following DSWM facilities will be CLOSED on Monday, January 16, 2017:

  • All Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers;
  • Central, West and Northeast Regional Transfer Stations.

The following DSWM facilities will be OPEN on Monday, January 16, 2017, during normal operating hours:
