The International Chocolate Festival: Celebrating 13 years of being South Florida’s most delicious event!

Forget those New Year’s resolutions just for this one chocolate-filled weekend. Unleash your sweet tooth at the 13th Annual Chocolate Festival at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Enjoy chocolate treats and watch cooking demonstrations. You can even learn how to grow and take care of your own cacao tree. Tickets start at $25 for adults and $12 for kids. Children 5 and under are free.

Indulge in chocolate delicacies during the season’s most delicious event: The International Chocolate Festival! Enjoy fine chocolate samples from artisan chocolatiers, lectures on chocolate making and demonstrations from Miami’s master chefs and chocolatiers!

Yvette Norwood-Tiger, international jazz vocalist and recording artist, songwriter, vocal coach, Recording Academy (Grammy) recording and voting member, and founder/director of Palm Beach International Jazz Festival (www.palmbeachinternationaljazzfestival.org), is a Detroit, Michigan native who hails from a family of musicians, including a father who played guitar and a mother who played drums.   Her CDs, A’LA ELLA! and whY NoT… Love, Peace, Joy, Jazz feature music from great composers such as Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, and the Gershwins.  Yvette performs with vocally clean and pure interpretations of the great American Songbook, while emphasizing intonation and storytelling.  Her vocal styling and texture is often compared to that of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Sarah Vaughan.  In addition to traditional jazz, her repertoire includes traditional gospel, Latin jazz, classic songs from popular music, and arias of the great composers such as Puccini.  She also performs songs in other languages which includes French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.  Her mission in music is to uplift, inspire, and heal the heart, mind and spirit of the listener.

Conjunto Progreso is a Traditional Cuban Music & Latin Jazz band. Playing the songs of Ignacio Piñeiro, Miguelito Matamoros, Compay Segundo, Faustino Orasma, Ñico Saquito,Guillermo Portabales, and many more.

Miami’s own Conjunto Progreso has been nominated for a 2006 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album for their CD “Masters of Cuban Son” on Pimienta Records dist. by Universal Music. Ever since it’s inception, the traditional Cuban Son ensemble Conjunto Progreso has taken audiences back in time to the nostalgic era of early Cuban popular music. Led by Johnny Aguiló, son of Cuban trumpet legend and band leader Rolando “El Ruso” Aguiló (Lecuano Cuban Boys, Orquesta Hermanos Castro, Conjunto Casablanca, etc) and grandson of Cuban Bass player Mario Aguiló (Conjunto Yumuri, Orquesta Saratoga, Conjunto Casablsanca, Nat King Cole) and co-founded by Johnny Aguilo and Jose Elias who started the group back in April of 1999 and since then they have seen the group grow from a quartet, to its recent incarnation of nine members.

Witness top-level Olympic sailing hopefuls from all corners of the globe battling for top honors on Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove. This is the premiere competitive circuit for sailors aspiring to represent their country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Come out to Regatta Park, located at 2700 S. Bayshore Drive in Coconut Grove, for the World Cup Series Festival. Enjoy food, fun and activities for all ages.
