Long-term partnership aimed at nourishing and supporting entrepreneurship in Miami

Mayor Francis Suarez announced a long-term partnership between the City of Miami and WeWork. This partnership launches with a referral program, offering companies and entrepreneurs that are new or relocating to Miami discounted rates for access to WeWork’s network of workspace, amenities and community networking, providing new and emerging businesses the ability to come to or enhance their presence in Miami.

“As Miami’s entrepreneurial scene continues to expand and diversify, we must focus on finding unique ways to support this growth. Today’s announcement is another way in which we are telling the world that Miami is open for business,” said Mayor Suarez. “By partnering with a company like WeWork that is shaping the future of the way we do businesses, we demonstrate our intention to not just support growth, but nourish it as well. Miami, which has been ranked first in startups in the nation, combined with WeWork’s business model, is facilitating growth in the community.”

Mayor Suarez, the City of Miami and WeWork will continue to work together throughout the year on a variety of initiatives to showcase and nurture Miami’s top innovative talent. Through WeWork, Miami companies will have access to offerings such as space, meaningful services and a business network of more than 210,000 WeWork members across the globe.

“WeWork is committed to the City of Miami, both as an economic and civic partner,” said WeWork Southeast General Manager Bobby Condon. “We have a large and growing presence here in South Florida and we believe in investing our resources and time in the city, its vibrant neighborhoods and the people here. As we continue to grow, we want Miami companies and entrepreneurs alike to grow with us, and within our global network of creators. We are excited to launch this partnership with the City of Miami and look forward to working with Mayor Suarez to see this growth in action.”

The referral program can be accessed through a website portal at we.co/miamireferral and the discount can be utilized at WeWork Miami locations, subject to availability, by businesses new to Miami, those being developed or looking to grow in the city but have not used WeWork space in the past.
